What to Expect

Consultation

We always begin our treatments with an in-depth consultation, which allows us to discuss your desired results and aesthetic goals. With this information, we can customize a unique treatment plan that accommodates your individual needs. During this process, we encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the treatment. We'll go over the process in as much detail as you need to feel comfortable.

Treatment

For your MicroLaserPeel treatment at PureMD, we'll begin by applying a topical numbing cream to the treatment area, which will diminish any discomfort during the treatment. Then, your expert technician will gently use the MicroLaserPeel handpiece on your skin. You may feel a slight warming sensation. The device delivers light and heat energy into the skin, which ablates the top layer of the skin. This helps your skin to produce new collagen, and as it heals, you'll be left with soft, smooth, even-toned skin!

Next Steps

We recommend a series of 1 to 3 treatments, depending on your unique concerns. If you require additional appointments, we'll direct you to our front desk staff, who will gladly assist you in making those appointments.

Prior to MicroLaserPeel, We Recommend You:

  • Avoid nicotine and alcohol
  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment
  • Stop all retinol use at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment

After MicroLaserPeel Treatment, We Recommend You:

  • Do NOT pick, scrub, or scrape at your skin
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for up to 4 weeks
  • Apply Aquaphor or Vaseline to the treatment area as needed
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours
  • Stay out of the sauna and avoid activities that induce profuse sweating for 48 hours

Frequently Asked Questions

Patients experience redness and a burning sensation similar to a deep sunburn for up to 8 hours after a MicroLaserPeel treatment. Your skin may feel warm to the touch. These sensations should subside quickly. You can use a clean, damp cloth pressed against the treatment area to alleviate the discomfort. We recommend the Alastin Skin Care Post-Procedure kit.
Results will be visible after the damaged skin cells shed away, which is usually within 1 week of treatment.
Patients can enjoy the benefits of 1 or more treatments for up to 6 months, at which point skin cells begin to accumulate. We recommend maintaining your results with treatments every 4 to 6 weeks.
